News from the Chatterbox - Christmas 2009

Did someone mention a sale?

The November sale will run from Wednesday, November 25th through Saturday, November 28th during normal shop hours and the discount will be 30%!

There will be no early sales, rain checks or extended hours. The sale will run 9 am to 6.30 pm on Wednesday November 25th, 9 am to 6.30 pm on Thursday, November 26th and Friday, November 27th, and 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday, November 28th ONLY.
* Excludes class fees, tin hire, sugarwork and some food items.

Plan to be there to take advantage of this fabulous offer just in time for Christmas!

The Term 1, 2010 Schedule will include Wilton Way of Decorating Courses 1, 2, 3, and 4 for those of you who want to continue on. The Brides and Grooms class is back, as well as Nursery Modelling, Raggedy Ann and the 3-D Novelty Tin. There is a new one session flower workshop, called Fantasy Flowers which may be of interest to those of you that want to explore flower making without a 5 week commitment. We have also had requests for a Chocolate Wedding Cake so there is a two week workshop that covers a Chocolate Wedding Cake with draping and chocolate roses. The Croquembouche workshop has also returned by popular demand, as well as a non-Christmas version of the Parcel Cake.

A note about our series of Wilton Way of Cake Decorating Courses 1 to 4. Students MUST take Course 1 before doing Course 2 and each course builds on the skills and equipment of the previous course. Taking the classes out of order will result in your having to purchase extra equipment to do the course, while doing them in order means that you receive all required equipment in the kit. The most economical way to do the courses is in order.

Do you have friends and family members that struggle to find just the right gift for you? Recommend they get a voucher at Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre for you! Vouchers can be purchased in any amount, do not expire for 6 months, and can be used for classes or items in the shop, whichever you would prefer.

When booking into classes and workshops, please understand that NO booking is confirmed until a 50% deposit is paid. Workshops and classes can book up weeks in advance and if you want to participate, please be sure that the deposit is taken care of. We try and pay attention to deposits and check back with you if a deposit has been overlooked, but we can occasionally miss things, so please be sure to follow up with deposits. A 20% surcharge will be deducted for cancellations of classes.

Just a reminder about parking for night time classes: The front grill on the arcade is pulled at 5.30 pm so entry is through the back door. Parking is behind the building and entry through the back door, up the stairs and the classrooms and shop are in the arcade. Remember, the shop is always open before classes start in the evening, so if you need anything, try to arrive a bit early so that classes can start at 6.45 pm. The shop is open from 5.30 pm through to classes starting so feel free to arrive early if you would like.

Unfortunately, due to tins not being returned, we are now requiring EVERY tin to have a deposit. We know this may be a bit of an inconvenience, but a few dishonest individuals who have stolen tins, have made us have to initiate this policy. Remember, the deposit can be as simple as a manual swipe of a credit card that will not be processed unless the tin is not returned, so we thank you in advance for your understanding and patience with this issue and appreciate your continued support.

Our closing times over the Christmas holidays are as follows:

  • We will close on December 23rd at 5.30 pm and reopen on Monday, January 4th at 9 am.
  • Tins that are hired on the 23rd of December are to be returned before 12 noon on Monday, January 4th and that period of time will be considered overnight hire as the shop is closed. Please try and remember to return the tins on the Monday; sometimes it is easy to forget as so much time has passed.

We look forward to helping you prepare for the Christmas season and hope that we can help you with new and different ideas to make this festive season an especially enjoyable one. Thank you so much for your support this year—we very much appreciate your custom and being able to help you celebrate the important events in your lives. If we can do anything to make the shop more user friendly, please let us know.

On behalf of the Team at Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre we wish all of you a Joyous Holiday Season and a Wonderful and Safe New Year!

Sweet Wishes
Susan and all the staff at the Greensborough Cake Decorating Centre.
